El Paso County father held in the shooting death of his 6-year-old son



A 6-year-old child has been identified as a shooting victim and his father has been arrested as a suspect in his son’s death, according to the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office.

On Tuesday, deputies were sent to the Yoder Post Office regarding the shooting of a male juvenile in his family’s home in the 7700 block of Edison Road, according to a news release.

When deputies arrived, they were flagged down by the child’s parents. The victim, 6-year-old Roman Krutitskiy, was taken to a local hospital where he died. The cause and manner of his death will be determined by the coroner’s office.

The child’s father, Nikolay Krutitskiy, 34, was arrested on Tuesday and booked into the El Paso County Jail. He is being investigated for first-degree murder, child abuse caused death, menacing, possession of a weapon by a previous offender, two counts of child abuse, prohibited use of a weapon, violation of a protection order and reckless endangerment.
